Take steps to bring local fresh foods into your school’s meals.
1. Advocate for local fresh foods at your school. Contact school leadership and PTA/PTO groups.
2. Advocate for food and farm instruction at your school – in the classroom and out, such as a farm visit, school garden or farmer fair. Learn about and get involved in the schools Wellness Policy Committee.
3. Start or participate in the schools Farm to School chapter. An ideal chapter would include school administrators, school food service, teachers, parents, students, farmers and community members.
